Aleksandr Karelin Training Routine

He trained 6 times a week. Monday morning he used to begin with running in the forest.
Time: 1h Distance: 10km

Evening on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
-used to work on a mat with sparring-partners

Wednesday: Rest, but Alex cited that he has his own unique rest. They used to play wrestling basketball

Saturday: They played football (soccer)

Preparation for championchips and Olympic Games
-press in horizontal position
-biceps/triceps: usuall dumbell exercises

I heard a rumour that Alexander Karelin used to do zercher deadlift. Many oldschool wrestlers did this exercise and highly recommended it. Alex was able to rep 500+ pounds in training. I have no source and I would say it’s just a rumour. But of course you can try this exercise.

Alex did 2-3 sets with 12-15 reps. In final set you should be exhausted and only be able to do 8-10 reps

-Have no diet routine

-Used to go to small restaurants/cafes and tried national cooking
-Preferred natural food
